Buenos Aires Introduces Tax Transparency for Consumers

Buenos Aires, March 16 (NA) – The City of Buenos Aires joined the Consumer Tax Transparency Regime this Monday, and purchase receipts will now show the amount customers will pay as Gross Income Tax. Through Decree 107/26, the Public Revenue Administration (AGIP) will adapt the regulations of this tax so that taxpayers can see in each transaction how much of the price corresponds to this tax, as learned by the Argentine News Agency. In this context, the Federal Capital joins Entre Ríos, Chubut, and Mendoza, which were the first three provinces to adhere to this regime in 2025. The regime will begin to function once the revenue agency regulates the measure and its implementation schedule. The Head of Cabinet, Gabriel Sánchez Zinny, stated on his social media X that “by decision” of the Head of Government, Jorge Macri, “the City is advancing towards greater fiscal transparency for consumers.” “In this way, the consumer will know how much they actually pay in taxes with each purchase they make,” said the official.
